Port of Montreal - Update

Dear Customer,

 

On Sunday, April 25, the Minister of Labour gave notice that the government will be introducing back to work legislation to end the strike at the Port of Montreal. It is expected this piece of legislation will be introduced Tuesday. You can view the text here: https://www.ourcommons.ca/DocumentViewer/en/43-2/house/sitting-88A/order-notice/page-8

The Bill is entitled "An Act to provide for the resumption and continuation of operations at the Port of Montreal.” 
Consistent with back to work legislation, the Government will be limiting debate in the House of Commons.

 

We do not know at this time how the bill will be received by all political parties but will provide updates as we receive them.
