Dear Customer,
We wanted to provide update on the extremely unfortunate and ongoing situation in southern British Columbia.
Road Update:
All major highways in and out of the greater Vancouver area remain closed. The province is working diligently on what they can but are still waiting on flooding to subside in many areas before they can safely access certain locations in need of repair.
At this time, there are still no firm estimates on when safe passage and road traffic across the lower mainland will be able to resume.
Rail Update:
CN crews are continuing to work tirelessly and safely to clean and repair the multiple sites affected by the heavy rainfall and various mudslides.
As of this time, CN will no longer be accepting originating container traffic through their Vancouver Intermodal Terminal, nor any containers throughout the rest of their network, destined to the Vancouver Intermodal Terminal.
Please note that CP Rail has just announced an export receiving embargo for all reefer and dry cargo into CP Vancouver, effective immediately. Additionally, export reefers have also been embargoed at all inland ramps, destined to Vancouver.
With the exception of VIF, all other rail ramps continue to accept export dry containers.
We will continue to monitor both the road and rail situations closely and will continue to update you as the situation evolves. We appreciate your continued support and patience throughout this unprecedented event.
Sincerely,
HENSALL GLOBAL LOGISTICS |
