CIRB Rules Rail Services Non-EssentialFriday, August 9, 2024

Dear Customer,
The Canada Industrial Relations Board said today that a work stoppage on CN and CPKC would not present a threat to public health and safety, which cleared the way for a strike if the railways and union cannot reach negotiated settlements.
The 13-day cooling-off period ordered by the tribunal means that if new contracts cannot be reached, a nationwide strike could occur as early as August 22, 2024.
The union has said that it would provide a 72-hour advance notice of strike action, as required should no agreements be reached.
We continue to monitor the situation and will provide further updates as new information is received.
Sincerely,
HENSALL GLOBAL LOGISTICS
