Dear Customer,
As we continue to monitor the current market environment and the unprecedented demand for containerized movement, MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) has announced that they will apply a peak season surcharge from Canada to various shipping destinations. Amount/Region and Effective date outlined below:
MSC – PSS Surcharge Canada to India/Pakistan East Med (Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon and Syria) Middle East and the Red Sea (UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sudan, Djibouti and Jordan) Greece and Turkey Black Sea (Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russia and Ukraine) US $ 200/TEU UK and NWC US $ 50/TEU Effective March 8th 2021 sailing date
MSC – PSS Surcharge Canada to the Far East via East Coast and West Coast US $ 200/TEU US $ 500/20’Reefer/40’ Reefer Effective March 15th 2021 sailing date
MSC West Africa GRI Canada to Nigeria US $ 200/container Canada to All Other West Africa Ports US $ 100/container Effective March 8th 2021 sailing date
We will continue to monitor this situation and will advise if there are any changes/mitigation/retraction with this market direction from MSC. As such, it is imperative that you start to incorporate these increases into your short-term pricing strategies as increases will be passed on accordingly.
