Dear Customer,
Please be advised that Unifor has announced that negotiations with CPKC have reached a stalemate, and as a result, Local 101R will hold strike votes across the country in the coming weeks.
The union opened contract discussions with the carrier early October but filed for conciliation end of October when negotiations had reached an impasse. The conciliation deadline is January 28, 2025.
Unifor represents approximately 1,200 of CP's mechanical employees who are responsible for maintaining rail cars and locomotives.
We will continue to monitor and advise as new information is received.
